You can probably tell by now that I'm in love with BaubleBar. Can you blame me? They have SO MUCH to choose from and they're reasonably priced. Each piece above is less than $35! I'm loving bright colors right now.. especially these!

Which one is your favorite?

a camera and a promise

[via]

Most of you probably know by now that I'm obsessed with pictures. Or taking pictures. Or probably both.
I have over 200 photo albums on my personal Facebook page, over 900 photos on Instagram, and am always running out of memory space on my iPhone and digital camera.
The quote above describes exactly why I love pictures so much.

So anyway, although I love photography, I don't know anything about it. I really need to take a class or something. But besides that, it seems like everyone is getting a new camera (like her and her and her) recently. And not just a new one, but a better one. A professional camera. -- And maybe they aren't actually professional cameras but I pretty much call any camera that takes high quality pictures "professional".
I've been dying for one. I mean really it's been on my wishlist for years now and since I've started blogging, it's become more evident to me that I do want need one! i can't even believe I've gone this long without one..
I'm not sure what's stopping me.. if it's the price tag on most of them, if it's because I'm intimidated, or maybe I just don't have any clue which camera I should buy. (It's probably all of the above.)
Don't get me wrong, I love my little Canon snap and shoot camera and my iPhone 4 gets the job done when I'm on the run. I just get so disappointed when I see what would be a great photo turn into a crappy photo because of a low quality camera.

Then I saw this post and realized that it was a perfect idea. Caitlyn at Little Petrie promised herself that she would purchase a Canon D500 for herself once she reached 2,000 GFC followers on her blog (which by the way.. you should go follow her now). Pretty cool, right?
So here I go...

I promise that I will purchase a _____________ camera when I reach 1,000 GFC followers.

I need your help filling the blank though! Like I said above, I don't know anything about cameras! Which one is best? Which one is best for a beginner? How much should I plan on paying for one? Where's the best place to buy from? Any tips? Help!
I obviously have a lot of research to do but I figured asking my fellow bloggers would be the best place to start. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, and I'm about 500 followers away... (eeek!!)

P.S. Check out this post for some great giveaways! And don't forget to join the GFC Blog Hop!

look around.

[via]
I think Jared and I take living in Hawaii for granted. We've experienced a lot here but in my opinion, it's not nearly enough. It's still so weird that we live here. I literally have to say to myself some days "YOU LIVE IN HAWAII"..because I think I forget. I never in a million years would have imagined myself a) living in Hawaii and b) living in Hawaii with my HUSBAND! Yea, the husband part is still crazy to me too.

Anyway, when Saturday morning rolled around, Jared and I were having our usual "what are we going to do today?" conversation. I'm so indecisive so this conversation usually lasts for over an hour and consists of us going back and forth with different options. Annoying, I know. It annoys ME so I can only imagine how Jared feels. Thank God he loves me. So, back to the story- we decided to act like tourists for the day. We walked around the city, took pictures, grabbed a snack at a local gem, had lunch on the water (at a touristy place that is way overpriced) and drank island drinks with little umbrellas.
view from lunch
we ate at a restaurant named after our dog. obviously.
I had to take a picture of the street that was named after our dog... obviously.
Jared took his umbrella out of his drink before I took this picture. It was pink so I guess he thought it ruined his image. Haha! He wants to go back to buy this glass.. we call it the Pimp Cup.
Yep, it was pretty awesome. We need more of those days. Like maybe every weekend. :)

Look around guys. I bet you'll see that life is pretty amazing.

Today is my best friend's sister's birthday.
She gets me like no one else does.
She has my back when no one else does.
She let's me cry when I need to cry.
She let's me bitch when I need to bitch.
She supports my crazy decisions.
She embraces my flaws.

I'm really lucky to have a friend like her.

under the sea

One of the (many) benefits of living in Hawaii is the scenery.. it's basically a blogger's dream. Imagine all of the fun photo shoots you could have!
That being said, one of my favorite memories of our time in Hawaii thus far is our underwater photo shoot. Yep. You heard that right. Underwater. Photo shoot. Yes, it is as cool as it sounds.

This is when I discovered that I am a horrible kisser underwater.

I love that Jared looks like a ninja.

We chose Waimea Bay as the setting of the shoot because... well I'm not really sure why but it was awesome. I had never swam so deep into the ocean. It was actually quite liberating.

All of the photos were taken by Marina Miller of Red Heart Photo. SHE IS AMAZING. Seriously. Besides her obvious talent, she's an all-around cool chick. If you ever visit Hawaii (or if you live here), I highly suggest that you book a shoot with her.

Marina suggested that we stay fully clothed for the shoot because it added a different look. I ended up loving this option! I wore a bathing suit underneath, FYI ;)

Jared's favorite part of the day was swimming with the turtle.. My favorite part was finding this..

No joke, it was just sitting there.. underwater.. perfectly placed.. like it was waiting for us!
I'm sure someone else placed it there but I like to pretend that it was fate. Yea yea, just humor me.

FAVORITE!
We had so much fun and I hope we get to do it again.
Check out more of Marina's work at redheartphoto.com.
